Warner Brothers is one of the largest production companies around, with thousands of films made under their name by various studios, spanning every genre and receiving critical reviews ranging from poor to excellent.

L.A Confidential



L.A Confidential is one the most successful neo-noires, having made $126,216,940 at the box office, gaining a 99% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as good press from The Washington Post and The New York Times, with comments such as  "Mr. Spacey is at his insinuating best, languid and debonair..."
The film is a good example of a highly successful neo-noir which not only followed the conventions of film noir, but also broke some to introduce plot/character development. An example of which can be seen when the various LAPD officers begin a fight in the prison, creating a scene which is high octane and visceral, set to tense and dramatic music which keeps of building up.

The Big Sleep



Howard Hawks 1946 rendition of Raymond Chandlers novel proved to be one of the biggest and most widely acclaimed film noirs under Warner Bros name. The withstood the test of time as made evident by it's score of a 96% on rotten tomatoes as well as 8.2 rating on imdb, even though back during its time, the film was given a few negative reviews. It featured many conventions of film noir, as well as having a confusing plot which is loosely tied together, which some consider a trope of film noirs.




Paramount Pictures

Double Indemnity


Double Indemnity is one of the many film noirs under Paramount pictures name, the film was a critical success as made $5m million in the box office, making it a very successful film back in its time. It featured a plot revolved around betrayal and love and featured a detective who eventually solves the case in the end, the film is a very typical film noir, featuring many conventions.
